.ge Registration
How do you register a .ge domain name?Introduced in the year 1992, the .ge extension is the country code top-level domain for Georgia. One significant registration requirement is that both the administrative contact and the technical contact must reside in Georgia. Registrations are open directly under .ge, .com.ge and under some restricted second level domains. In order to secure a .ge extension, your company must already be registered with the concerned authority in Georgia. Popular registrations available are .ge, .com.ge,.net.ge.
The first step in obtaining a .ge domain registration is to prepare an official statement addressed to the GE domain administrator. The application should have details such as the domain name, the applicant's name and contact information. Legal persons should furnish the names of their organizations and the representatives. In addition to this application form, a technical registration form should also be completed. When registering a .ge site, a personal ID card should be presented together with the application form. The form for .ge registration is available at: http://www.nic.net.ge.
Natural persons who do not reside in Georgia, are not registered in Georgia, or are not citizens of Georgia are not eligible to register a .ge domain. Legal persons who are not registered in Georgia can register one name under .ge and .com.ge domains. If this is the case, then the foreign legal person must assign a registered legal person in Georgia as the authority of the .ge domain.
The registrant is informed when the administrator receives the application for a .ge domain name registration. In the case of a rejection, a reply shall contain an explanation citing relevant reasons for denial.
All the contact persons indicated in the domain name registration form should be available via e-mail. The .ge registration is provided on a first come first served basis. The filled in application should be sent to the administrator's address.
