The .hm domain is used as the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Heard and McDonald Islands, an Australian territory with an extensive marine reserve. Even though there are not many websites with an .hm domain due to a lack of both residents and economic activity on the islands, the .hm domain has active status in the domain registry. An .hm domain can be attained with an annual registration maintenance fee that is charged for each domain registered.

To register an .hm domain name, there are a few guidelines that are to be kept in mind and followed.
