.hn Registration

The .hn extension is the country level domain name for Honduras, a country in Central America. The .hn domain name, introduced in the year 1993, is available for individuals and businesses connected with Honduras. Red De Desarrollo Sostenible Honduras (RDS-HN), supported by the National Company of Hondutel Telecommunications, is the registry as well as the sponsoring organization for .hn registration.

All .hn domain registrations are subject to certain terms and conditions as outlined in the NIC-HN. In order to register an .hn domain, an authorization letter in the prescribed format and a copy of the applicant's certificate of incorporation must be submitted to the NIC-HN Domain Registration Center of Honduras. Moreover, details including the general, technical and administrative contact information of the applicant and the name and Internet Protocol (IP) address of the principal and secondary servers must also be submitted. The registration process generally takes one to two months and the validity of registration will expire after two years.

The NIC-HN recommends registering the domain name as a trademark. The minimum and maximum number of characters that are admissible in a valid .hn domain name is restricted to 3 and 63 respectively. Only English alphabets A through Z and the digits 0 through 9 are allowed to be used in the domains. A hyphen may also be used but not as the first or last character of the domain. The cost for a .hn registration is $100.00, plus $50.00 for the subsequent renewal and maintenance fee of the domain registration each year.
