.kg Registration

ICANN has approved .kg as the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Kyrgyzstan, a country in Central Asia. Introduced in 1995, the .kg registration service is sponsored by AsiaInfo Telecommunication Enterprise. Now AsiaInfo ISP web-servers are responsible for .kg registration domains.

Individuals and organizations registering under the .kg registration zone must follow the registration agreement of the Kyrgyzstan domain name registry. Alphanumeric characters, Roman alphabet and digits can be used for naming domains. Use Roman alphabet or a digit at the beginning and end. An unlimited number of SLD (Second Level Domains) can be registered by any entity, including individuals and various types of organizations (private and public). Such sub-domains are:

• .gov.kg : government entities
• .mil.kg : public entities
• .com.kg : commercial
• .net.kg : networking sites
• .edu.kg : institutions
• .org.kg : organizations

Do you need a registration form for applying for a .kg domain? If so, the form is available at http://www.domain.kg. Alternatively, you can make a contract with the administrator. The registration fees for second level and third level domain names for one year are $80.00 plus VAT and $5.00 plus VAT respectively. The registration seeker should pay 100% of the registration fee within thirty calendar days from the date of domain name registration; otherwise the registration will be cancelled. Within the time frame of three working days from the receipt of payment, your registered domain name will be activated.

Your registration is valid only for a year from the day of starting the account. In addition to new domain name registration, a domain name holder can request the administrator for modification or deletion or renewal of the registered domain name. Registrar to registrar transfer is also possible in the case of a .kg domain name.
