.kh Registration
How do you register a .kh domain name?The .kh registration service is managed by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia. Introduced in the year 1996, the Internet Country Code Top level domain for Cambodia is .kh. All entities connected with Cambodia can use this registration. Multiple domains are allowed for organizations. Contracts are made for two years. The .kh domain registration is done on a first-come-first served basis.
Some of the second level domains available are:
- per.kh : for individual names
- com.kh : for commercial bodies
- edu.kh : for educational establishments
- gov.kh : for government agencies and entities
- mil.kh : for the military
- net.kh : for network providers
- org.kh : for non profit making organizations
A domain name can have three to 12 characters. A dash or hyphen cannot be used either at the beginning or the end of the domain name. Spaces are also not allowed. A name may be rejected if it is found to be offensive or inappropriate. In case of conflict, the trade name is given the priority over the company name for .kh registration. Any change of domain name requires the payment of registration fees and is not refundable. The removal of domain name is free of charge. For transfer of domain name, you have to submit the transfer application form along with the registration fees.
An amount of $40 should be paid for registration and $30 for renewal. Administrative contact information, technical contact information, domain names and name server information are some of the information you will need in order to fill the domain request application. The domain application, a copy of the business license, a copy of the Power of Attorney, and payment details should be sent by email. You are also required to have a copy of the license or certificate of trade name, issued by the ministry of commerce of Cambodia, authenticated by the municipality of Phnom Penh. Local presence is mandatory for .kh domain registration.
